School visits offer an opportunity to talk about my books and share with students important things about Kentucky and American history. Students are wonderful audiences. They can be inquisitive and enlightening at the same time.

To create fun Ben Tuggle moments with the students my wife, Janice, and I created a Ben Tuggle outfit similar to the one Ben is wearing on the cover of Daniel Boone and the Settlement of Boonesborough, Kentucky.

Prior to my presentation I will ask the school librarian to pick a child to dress up like Ben Tuggle. My student Ben Tuggle is more than a visual aid. He or she brings Ben to life and enhances the moment in lots of educational and fun ways.
