Benjamin Nathan Tuggle-Adventurer
Elementary Schools
The adventure series, Benjamin Nathan Tuggle-Adventurer is a history lesson disguised
as an adventure story for children, ages 8-12.
The presentation begins with a discussion
on writing. Topics covered are the methods I use to plan, organize and write a manuscript,
and the transformation the manuscript must go through to become a book. I relate
my writing methods to the children’s classroom writing assignments.
During the middle
section of the presentation I discuss the role of Ben Tuggle’s historical friends,
Daniel Boone and/or George Washington played in the early development of America.
I
close with a short reading from Daniel Boone and the Settlement of Boonesborough,
Kentucky, or General George Washington and the American Revolution.
